6.99% TO 16.99% Then 35%= "Fraudulan"
They hook you in at approx. 6.99% then abrupely go to 16.99%, but THE kicker in the asser comes with NO explaination, 'cause this bank is in obvious trouble, and now will stick it to ALL, no matter how you've overpaid the min. balance, or how good your credit rating is...there's isn't, they are failing in my opinion and observations, and pulling in the life preservers for themselves before they sink! Shop around before you pay 35% interest to a failing bank!!! Failing banks are like and are ***, they're everywhere...here's your sign

Advanta ***!
Signed up with Advanta approx 9 months ago, with a fixed 2.99% interest rate for balance transfers and a 7.99% lifetime rate on purchases. yeah, right. My latest statement arrived in the mail on Friday and my interest rate is up to 35%! I pay my bills early, and always over the minimum! When I called 2 months ago to dispute the 30% rate increase, they said there was nothing they could do because this rate increase was related to my "credit profile". The same excuse as everyone else has heard. My credit rating is excellent, and I still have this treatment? WHY?? What can we do to stop this? Does anyone have any ideas? I will be writing letters to congress and the media about this, but I still have to pay my bills and try to keep my credit in good standing.

Advanta Bank Scam !!!
I have had an Advanta Bank credit card for two years....I have NEVER been late on ANY payments to any of my creditors for over 20 years...my FICO score is VERY good...my Advanta interest rate started at 0% and then when to 7.99% (as per their original offers)....THEN..overnight with NO warning my my Advanta interest rate jumped to 25 % ...I called the *** Advanta customer service people about all this and they were USELESS. After reading all the other posts on this board I realize all this is just a SCAM..I am cancelling the Advanta account....If I wanted to pay pawn shop interest rates, I would GO to a pawn shop...I cannot believe Advanta can CONTINUE to run this flagrant scam and not get shut down by the Feds..there is a special place in *** for these bloodsucking cockroaches.

Advanta Business Credit Card - Warning
Been a customer for 9 years. Never late, never missed a payment, never went over limit. Even got new cards last month and a increase in limit. Fast ward....opened statement and they raised my interest to almost 36%. Called, no they would not lower it, no explanation given, said they sent notice, never received one. Credit score is 780.....Sold stocks, paid it off, closed the account. Kicker is, they did this right after I charged a large amount at a Gift Show (I'm a retail store). Don't use this company. I'm looking into a class action suit.

Small business bait & switch--raised rates for no reason
Was solicited last year to get a promo rate of 7.99%. The bank kept sending checks. Called in July to check on cash advance fees and interest rate on the cash advance (same 7.99% rate) if I used it. So, I used a little of my line to pay a contractor. Next month, they pull my credit reports (2 of them and they are both stellar), supposedly reviewed my history with them (let's see, I never paid less than 3x the monthly minimum and was never late) and then jacked up the cash advance rate and future charges interest rate to 22.9%. Customer service (disservice) wouldn't even discuss it, or refer me on to someone else who could at least try to give some rational explanation. Maybe Advanta is on the brink of failure just like other banks these days. In any event, their reputation is mud in my book and I would encourage others to do business elsewhere.

Advanta Credit Card are corporate thieves.
I cannot believe Advanta. I have been a good customer for years, and had 7.99% without a problem, even after a late payment. But now, just 3 months after I take advantage of a $10,000 cash advance that they promised would stay at 7.99%, they have raised it to over 30%!!! They can give me no justifiable reason other than "your credit report has changed". I asked "how"... They reply, "you just don't deserve a 7.99% rate anymore" Can you believe this? I was on time with payments, and a good customer for years. Not anymore. Next call is to a bankruptcy lawyer, and Advanta can choke on the fact that they will not get a dime back from me now. Idiots. I hope the greedy bastards burn in ***... how can they conduct business like this? BOYCOTT ADVANTA LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE..... DO NOT GET a Big Cash Advance... once you do they know they have you. ...and where the *** are all the class action lawsuit lawyers???

Advanta Bank Corp ..is this legal ?
I was shocked to see that after dealing with Advanta for several years they raised my interest rate to 35.08 %. Yes, I too thought that was a misprint 35.08 %. I called an spoke to one of their representatives ( I'm pretty sure he was in India ) who advised me that after checking several sources including outside of Advanta they thought I would be a credit risk. ( So they raise the rate ??? ) I asked if he showed I was ever late on a payment to Advanta and he checked and said no BUT other outside sources were involved in the decision to raise my interest rate. I asked if he thought an increase from 16 % from last month to 35 % to this month was high. He could not answer that. He checked to see if they had a lower rate for me but no. 35 % was the best they could do. I hung up and immediately paid off the entire balance. They they will get no more money from me !!!

Raised our rates for no cause.
14 months of 7.99% interest. Always paid on time, used the card as our sole business card. We opted for their 7.99% loan for $10,000. and after we made our first initial payments they raised the rate to 29 %. When I phoned to complain, and asked for what reason, the representative said that their was no reason, they just weren't making enough on our account, so they raised our rate. This is why credit card companies need more regulation. What other industry can change a interest rate after the fact. Their representative said that I was sent a mailer that they were going to raise the rates, and if we didn't send it back that we wanted to opt out, than it was perfectly legal to raise them. I committed the sin of omission. I didn't read the small print form and I didn't send it back, thus my rates were raised, my fault. What a scam, we immediately closed the account. In my opinion Advanta is the worst card company you could ever be involved with. John

Advanta, with no warning increased from 7.99 to 20.8%!
ADVANTA Master Card Complaint. This year we were solicited and agreed to transfer credit and join Advanta Master Card Business and their offer for 7.99%, on time, great credit standing, out of no where they increased my intrest to 20.8%. If my sister did not call me to confirm my interest hike, I had no way to know that this just happened, with NO warning, this is illegal. When I called, the customer service girl said "well, it is because of the poor economy you know", with a perfect credit score and on time over payments each month, I said yes, I know, the economy is bad, so Advanta is kicking us in our teeth, robbing us and making us even lower! They must be stopped, this "Bait&Switch" scheme on small business owners, in this economy is disgusting!

Advanta taking advantage of small business
I have experienced the same issue with my interest rate going from 7.99 to 24.99 with no notice. I called and they claim to have sent a letter of this change yet that is not true they send you those checks out every month and printed the change on the back and no one notices until they go to pay their bill earlier and notice there finance charges have risen to an unafforable level. Does any know which attorney generals office to file a complaint with? If so please post. Thank you another irrate customer just trying to make a living

Advanta Bank Corp Credit Card Fraud
Nov. 2007 I applied for a credit card from Advanta with a zero interest rate for 12 months and paid my bill on time. Jan 2008 I received a notice from Advanta that $90 was overdue. I contacted customer representatives who refused to acknowledge that the payment had been made. The overdue charge triggered late fees and increased my interest rate which is currently 29.99% I contacted the FTC (Fair Billing and Credit Act), FDIC (Regulation Z), BBB, locally the Nevada Attorney General's office, and writing a Federal Complaint against Advanta Bank Corp which will be posted online.

Advanta Bank ruined my excellent credit
I closed my Advanta account for over a year and then out of nowhere, I get a balance and without any knowledge other than a 90 day late payment notice on my credit report did i find out that somehow my card magically opened itself up, charged, then closed again. I tried calling the company without any help and they went straight to the collection agency. I am afraid that they might add more charges without my knowledge!!! Consumer please beware of this company. They ruined my credit that was perfect and i am not sure how to erase them from my past or be aware of another fraudulent charge. Please FEDS investigate these crooks- companies like these make America Bad!

Advanta Card Fraud
Recently I was made aware that my 7.9% interest rate was now 25%. I have always paid my bills on time and have never been late with this card or any of my financial obligations. Researching this I see there are many complaints about Advanta doing this to many consumers. This of course will hurt my credit score. Advanta said they sent a letter as if this justifies them being able to rip off the consumers. Please get the word out about these fraudulent tactics by Advanta business card. If government really wanted to help our country stopping credit card companies like these would be a good start. God Bless America I love this country but it's a darn shame these companies can do this type of thievery to the consumers.

Advanta Business Credit Card Crooks!
Today i checked my online account with Advanta and noticed something unusual. Long story short, they jacked me from 7.99% to a whopping 26.31% on Standard Purchases and 36.31% on Cash Advances. Let me point out that i have been a great customer for over 3 years with absolutely stellar credit, no lates, excellent history and spotless credit with all my other creditors. They started me out with $5,000 and within 18 months i was at $18,500. I have always sent minimum payments between $500-$2,000 and seldom carry a balance until recently due to other high interest credit cards. When i emailed Customer Service i got a standard computerized script about the ailing economy blah blah blah... With a middle FICO OF 796 I was told i am now a potential credit risk! Unbelievable! I will surely take legal action ASAP. I intend on costing them money now and tying them up in court cases etc. If anyone has any success stories as a result of a similiar situation please share it with me.. ADVANTA ARE CROOKS!!!
